After consulting with staff, faculty, and student leadership, the administration decided that in light of the rapid developments of the preceding weeks and the uncertainty of the coming months, planning for an August commencement posed too many risks. Postponing one commencement has caused enough disruption and heartache. The administration felt that scheduling another commencement, only to have to postpone once again, would not be in anyone's best interest.
For that reason, a joint ceremony will be held in December. That said, University leadership has plans to recognize our Spring graduates in May.
